Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) (Astún, Huesca)

In January 2024, the Aragonese Water Institute awarded Ingeniería de Obras Zaragoza S.L. the task of reviewing and updating the project for the Astún Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), located in the municipality of Jaca (Huesca).

The project included a comprehensive redesign of the treatment process, adapting the pollutant load and inflow rates to the conditions of both the peak and off-peak seasons.

The work consisted of reviewing and updating the original plans, incorporating new technical and environmental requirements. Adjustments were made to the water treatment systems with the aim of optimizing their efficiency and ensuring compliance with current regulations. Additionally, the economic feasibility of the project and its environmental implications were evaluated, ensuring the sustainability of the implemented improvements.

This intervention has allowed for resource optimization and better adaptation to the operational needs of the plant, ensuring more effective and environmentally friendly treatment.
