The “10+10 Business Examples #ForTheClimate” 2023 initiative highlights the climate commitment of 10 large companies and 10 SMEs, seeking to showcase their concrete actions to address the climate crisis and promote decarbonization. These exemplary initiatives are a set of best practices that will inspire other organizations to join the movement, implement the Paris Agreement and move towards decarbonization collectively.

Inngen.io’s Proposal: BIOEnergHII Project

Inngen.io’s proposal is the pioneering project called “BIOEnergHII,” in the category of climate change adaptation. In collaboration with UniSieve, a Swiss company, this project aims to develop an innovative solution to generate green energy from wastewater in the food and beverage industry, thereby contributing to a sustainable and environmentally friendly energy source.

The focus is on producing a blend of biohydrogen and biomethane gas from industrial wastewater. Inngen.io will lead the development of technologies for the production of both gases, collaborating with UniSieve to ensure gas purification and quality for commercialization.

The project will be carried out at the Inngen.io Innovation and Development Center. It is an innovative project that is part of the Eurostars program supported by Eureka, with the aim of boosting European competitiveness through innovative technological projects. The initiative aims to address energy scarcity and water quality, with ambitious goals in terms of gas production and CO2 reduction.

Although the project is in the research stage, there are plans to scale it to the commercial phase in the near future. Stakeholder groups include the food and beverage industry, renewable energy companies, and society at large.
